Dr. Michael Bednarczuk | New Professor and Director of the Masters of Public Administration (MPA) Program


Brent Sykes, Academic Dean, is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Bednarczuk, Ph.D. as Professor and Director of the Masters of Public Administration (MPA) program effective January 1st, 2022.

Michael Bednarczuk, Ph.D., earned his doctorate in political science at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He is currently an Instructor of Political Science at Grace College and has previously taught at Ohio University-Chillicothe and Belhaven University, where he served as the chair of the MPA program. He has also worked for nonprofit organizations such as the Institute for Justice and Reason Foundation.

Dr. Sykes said, “Dr. Bednarczuk is an excellent institutional fit. He brings a wealth of academic leadership, practical nonprofit experience, and most importantly scholarship. I am excited to see his impact on students and faculty members in the MPA program, as well as our institution.

His work has been featured in Bloomberg and he has been interviewed by several media companies, such as Yahoo Finance.

He has also been published in academic journals on topics ranging from election forecasting to caucus votes in Congress to the attitudes and behaviors of bureaucrats in journals such as PS: Political Science and Politics, Journal of Ideology, The American Review of Public Administration, Journal of Public and Nonprofit Affairs, Administration & Society, Public Administration Quarterly, International Public Management Journal, and Public Finance and Management.

He has also published articles on the topic of religiosity in public administration, contributed to a collection of devotions tailored to those working in government, and has given presentations on Christianity in the public sector.

Michael lives with his wife and two children in Indiana. Dr. Bednarczuk will be working primarily remotely from Indiana and traveling to Moore, as needed.
