Daniel Sweet to begin as Director of Christian Ministries beginning July 2023

Dr. Brent Sykes, Academic Dean, is happy to announce Daniel Sweet as the new Director of Christian Ministries at Randall University beginning July 1, 2023. Daniel will continue to serve as lead pastor at Calvary Church in Norman, OK where he has served in that role since 2012.

Mr. Sweet is a respected pastor who has faithfully served in ministry for over two decades and will continue to do so. “Daniel has a huge heart for young adults and teaching. These passions naturally align with our mission. In addition, he is committed to the work of the local church, is actively involved in denominational work, and respected by his pastoral peers.” Mr. Sweet has taught in an adjunct capacity at Randall since 2016.

Daniel is an alumnus of Randall University graduating in 2004 with a Bachelor's degree in Ministry, which is consistent with President Thompson’s vision for Randall to grow our own leaders for tomorrow. He then served on staff at Woodward FWB Church and Pryor 1st FWB Church, utilizing his calling and developing his passion for ministry to impact multiple congregations.

Daniel is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in New Testament from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He also holds a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) in Theology and a Master of Arts in Religion (MAR) in Biblical Studies from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. Daniel's dedication to ongoing education reflects his desire to deepen his understanding of Scripture and enhance his ability to serve his congregation effectively.

Mr. Sweet is happily married to his wife, Jamie. They’ve been married since 2002. She is an elementary school teacher at Moore Public Schools. Together, they have been blessed with four wonderful children: Lukas (17), Karis (12), Selah (11), and Zoe (9). Daniel cherishes his role as a husband and father, finding joy and inspiration in the love and support of his family. He is passionate about his family, pastoring, preaching the Gospel, discipleship, education, and the San Francisco 49ers. #NinerEmpire
