Greg McAllister's father, Jim McAllister, was a church planter, pastor, and college president. His mother, Helen, put Greg to work in children’s church at age 12 and that shaped his ministry. He attended Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College (now Randall University) from 1975-1978. He married Debbie Wright in 1977, the same year he entered ministry. They have two children and two grandchildren. Greg received his BA from Hillsdale in 1978 and his M.Div from Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary in 1997.
Greg has served as children’s minister, youth pastor, discipleship director, or senior pastor in five Free Will Baptist churches in Oklahoma, Missouri, and California. His passion is making disciples and he wrote a book on discipleship (Leading Questions, Randall House, 1981). From 1995-2000 he served as Academic Dean at California Christian College (Fresno). He was involved with law enforcement for 10 years as Program/Intelligence Analyst with the Executive Office of the President/Office of National Drug Control Policy (2000-2003), Senior Chaplain with the Fresno Police Department (2003-2006); and working with inner city churches as Community Coordinator, Fresno Police Graffiti Bureau (2006 to 2009).
In 2010 he was elected to the FWB International Missions Board. He planted and pastored a church in California’s Fresno-Clovis area (2010-2016) and was volunteer coordinator with Fresno County Habitat for Humanity. During this time, he also ghost wrote 12 books for various pastors. He and his father co-wrote Rebuilding Your Flock, a pastoral leadership book. He also contributed the first chapter to the Free Will Baptist Guide for New Believers.
