Randall University Announces New Director of the Psychology Program


Moore, OK— June 29, 2017

Mark Braisher, Executive Vice President of Randall University announced that Dr. Brent Sykes has been named the Director of the Psychology Program at the University. Dr. Sykes follows Carla Krueger who began the program, with Dr. Mendel Simmons, and has led it since 2006. Mrs. Krueger’s responsibilities as Director of Assessment and Intervention have increased over the years and these responsibilities with her continued teaching in Psychology will occupy her full attention.

Dr. Sykes brings a background of teaching and research to the position. He has been at Randall since 2012. Sykes worked in the mental health field for nine years. He has presented research at various national academic meetings, including the American Psychological Association, Association of Research on Nonprofit Organizations and the Voluntary Sector, and the American Educational Studies Association. His research has been published in Adult Learning and he is the lead author in an upcoming article in Gateways: International Journal of Community Research and Engagement.

Dr. Sykes and his wife, Amanda, have been blessed to have four children. Paige who is eleven and four-year- old triplets: Elinor, Josephine, and Lincoln. In addition, to this position, Brent will continue to lead the Social Studies Education Program. President Eaton stated that he “looks forward to the impact that Dr. Sykes will bring to the position.”
