On many Wednesday evenings throughout the academic year, you will find members of Randall’s Recruitment Team visiting with young people at area churches. The purpose of these visits is twofold:
- Provide high schools students with an opportunity to learn more about Randall University and consider whether the Lord might be leading them to join our community, and
- Create an opportunity for us to serve and minister to these students, as well as the pastors and youth pastors in their churches. At each visit, a student preacher presents a message and one of our student worship teams provides music ministry. In addition, we play games and give away prizes.
A Visit to Cross Point Church
On Wednesday, October 9, we were able to visit Cross Point Free Will Baptist Church in Wichita, Kansas. The Randall University Abide Worship Team, Pastoral Ministry student James Christian, Youth & Family student Kevin Pouncil, and Student Recruiter River Chambers were privileged to fellowship with the students of Cross Point. We led them in several games and gave away Chick-fil-A gift cards and t-shirts as prizes, Abide led us in worship through music, and James Henry gave a message challenging the students to keep their hearts and minds focused on Jesus in the midst of their circumstances in life, at home, or in school. A few Randall students also shared their own experiences of how God brought them to Randall.
After the service, Cross Point youth ministers Jerrod and Deirdre Vickers treated us to a local favorite, Taco Shop, where we were able to talk with some of the students more in-depth about visiting campus and college opportunities in general. It was a great night of fellowship and sharing with our Cross Point FWB family in Wichita!
