About Beth
Professor Harper comes to Randall University after 37 years teaching mathematics in Moore Public Schools where she taught both at the junior high and high school levels. Though subjects taught range from 7th grade general math to Junior level Algebra 2 and Intermediate Math, her favorite was Pre-AP Geometry. Her philosophy is that anyone can learn any level of math—they just need to have an open mind and the right teacher.
Professor Harper is a lifelong learner and leader, as shown by her work as a department head for the last nine years, by assisting teachers with classroom management issues, developing curriculum and activities for different topics, and encouraging them when things got tough. She pushed her own level of teaching competence by earning her National Board Certification in Early Adolescent Mathematics in 2004 and 2014. Mrs. Harper was also honored as a recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching in 2009.
“Having attended a small, Christian, liberal arts college myself, this is like coming home to me. I feel so blessed to be part of this faculty and campus.” —Mrs. Beth Harper
