Randall University Welcomes Rebekah Hays as New English Instructor

Moore, OK — Randall University is pleased to announce the appointment of Rebekah Hays, M.A., J.D., as its newest Instructor of English. With an extensive background in English studies, legal advocacy, and pedagogy, Hays brings a wealth of academic excellence and a deep commitment to student development to the university's growing faculty.

A proud graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma, Hays earned both a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in English Composition and Rhetoric, graduating with honors. During her M.A. program, she was selected as one of only six graduate students to serve as an Instructor of Record for English Composition I and II—an early affirmation of her instructional talent and passion for teaching.

Hays also holds a Juris Doctor from the prestigious University of Alabama School of Law, where she was recognized for her dedication to public interest law and service to children and families. Her legal work included time with the Domestic Violence Law Clinic, Oklahoma Indian Legal Services, and the International Refugee Assistance Project. Though she earned her J.D. with distinction and received multiple awards for excellence in Family and Adoption Law, she ultimately felt a divine calling to return to the field of education.

“As a scholar, a mother, and a believer, I care deeply not only about what students learn, but also about who they are becoming,” Hays shared. “Randall’s mission—to ground education in Christ and nurture the whole student—perfectly aligns with my heart for teaching and mentoring.”

Over the past four years, Hays has also served as a home educator, employing brain-based pedagogical strategies and literature-based learning methods in early childhood education. Her teaching philosophy reflects a commitment to whole-brain learning, student engagement, and the formation of character through Christ-centered instruction. She and her family attend Redeemer Church in Norman.

“We are thrilled to welcome Rebekah Hays to the Randall community,” said Dr. Jay McCurry, Provost and Chief Academic Officer. “Her academic credentials, teaching experience, and passion for faith-integrated learning make her an ideal addition to our faculty as we continue to elevate the excellence of our programs.”

Rebekah Hays will begin her role at Randall University in the upcoming academic term, teaching a range of courses in English composition and literature.
