Engage: Youth Shelter

Crossroads Emergency Youth Shelter

There are two types of opportunities for volunteering at the shelter:

  • Game Night—providing a fun, relaxing evening of games for the youth
  • Dinner and Game Night—in addition to games, we will help provide dinner

Game Night Opportunities:

We will be going to Crossroads Youth Emergency Shelter to hang out with the kids for a few hours. We'll provide fun games to help bring something new into their living environment.

Need to Know: Meet at the Barber Center at 4:45pm to ride to the shelter together in the school van. We will be back on campus around 8:00pm.

More Information

Crossroads Youth and Family Services exists to support the healthy lifestyles and emotional well-being of children, youth, and families through the provision of effective, community-based programs. Their Emergency Youth Shelter in Norman (the only such homeless youth shelter in Cleveland County) provides short-term emergency homeless shelter care for up to twelve children from birth to age 18 (although, most of the time they are between the range of 6-17 years). There are usually only up to 12 kids there at a time. The shelter is a safe, nurturing environment for children experiencing any kind of crisis in their lives.
